Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949 is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a lecturer as a consultant, speaker, columnist syndicated as an author, author, and television show host. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran was one of the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts in February 2020. Her biggest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was second child in a family of 10 children and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to the next during Corcoran’s childhood. At times, her family relied on deliveries of free food from a local grocery store. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who drank often and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran had difficulty at school and later found out that she was dyslexic. Corcoran started high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after failing several courses during her first year of high school.
